The Gallery Lodge

1928

Introduction

On behalf of THE GALLERY LODGE Number 1928 we welcome you to our website.

If you are reading this then you may be someone who is interested in becoming a Freemason or someone that is already a Freemason and looking to join or visit a London Lodge.  In either case we would welcome the opportunity of helping you.

This website is designed to give you the basic information you need.

For those thinking about becoming a Freemason you may be surprised that we can tell you just about everything you want to know.  The only “secrets” are about some of our rituals because to reveal them would simply spoil the experience of those that have not yet experienced them.

So, if you are interested then please don’t delay in contacting our MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY at the e-mail address on the Contact Page of this website.

Should you already be a Freemason and looking to join or visit a London Lodge then please contact me the LODGE SECRETARY at the e-mail address on the Contact page of this website.

Why join

Freemasonry is about sharing a common desire for charitable support and following a high moral code. It is a male-only society, focused on following the three core principles and improving oneself and others. Our society is open to men of any race, religion, political belief and status.

FOREWORD: RW Bro. Warren Duke, Metropolitan Grand Master

Freemasonry is a force that evolves with the times, and so too must the ways we connect and share our stories. With this in mind, I am writing to share an important development: Arena, our much-loved magazine, will no longer be printed.

The Art of the Craft – part 1

Freemasonry is influenced by the arts in every form - most obviously the theatrical spectacle of our ceremonies. These are beautiful performances which have the precision and poise of dance. Music is also integral, and good organists introduce the occasional comic riff (I once heard a Grand Inspector piped in to the Star Wars Imperial March, aka Darth Vader’s theme).
